Back-to-back-to-back came up four points shy for the Guthrie boys track team as Tulsa East Central took the top spot in the 5A state track meet.
The Cardinals secured the title when they finished second in the 1600 meter relay race to finish with 77 team points. Guthrie finished with 73 team points while state tournament host Ardmore was third with 71 points.
Leading the way for the BlueJays was Emmanuel Robinson, who won the 100 meters and 110 meter hurdles. The senior, who signed with Morgan State, ran a 10.76 in the 100 and 14.35 in the hurdles. At last years state meet, Robinson won the same two events in addition to the 4 x 100 relay.
Guthrie collected 20 points and the top spot in the 4 x 800 meter relay.
Lady Jays senior Erika Guerrero finished fourth overall in the pole vault.
