Two Logan County deputies were shot Tuesday afternoon in eastern Logan County during an exchange of gunfire with a suspect, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 1:45 p.m. at 3101 Terrel Dr. Law enforcement officials said they were responding to a verbal domestic call that led to gunfire. Deputies have responded to the home multiple times in the past for domestic-related calls.
Following the shooting, law enforcement surrounded the home while working to locate the suspect. During this time, an adult and two juveniles exited the residence safely.
A drone was deployed and located the deceased suspect, allowing officers to approach the male subject safely.
The two injured deputies were able to walk to the ambulance upon its arrival. Both were alert and speaking with Guthrie EMS paramedics before being transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where they remain in stable condition.
The incident drew a heavy law enforcement response, including personnel from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Guthrie Police Department, U.S. Marshals, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, and Logan County Emergency Management. The U.S. Marshals were already in town for a separate training exercise when the incident occurred.
Authorities remain at the scene as the investigation continues.
