Two vehicle accidents on Guthrie roads slowed traffic down for the Tuesday morning commute. One wreck involved a Guthrie school bus and an arrest while the other accident left a van in the front yard of a home.

Bus WreckGuthrie Police and Fire responded at around 7:45 a.m. to Guthrie’s west side for a two-vehicle accident that involved the school bus. The bus was hit from behind by an SUV on Noble. Ave between 7th and 8th streets.

Two children were on board the bus at the time of the crash, but luckily were not injured.

The driver of the SUV, that ran into the bus, was arrested for a suspended license.

The SUV suffered severe front-end damage while the bus appeared to have minor damage near the rear bumper.

A second bus was called in to transport the two young children to school.

Prairie Grove and South Division

Approximately 15 minutes later and just before 8 a.m., a second accident occurred at the intersection of S. Division and Prairie Grove.

Wreck 04072015One person was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident sent their minivan speeding through two fence posts, plowing through a sign and came to a stop just before crashing into a home.

Details were not clear at the scene, but witnesses say a Department of Public Safety vehicle attempted to make a turn from Prairie Grove onto Division when the two vehicles collided.

The white, DPS vehicle came to a stop at the intersection’s southwest corner, but the minivan, who is believed to have been traveling southbound continued through the impact. After impact, the van split two narrow fence posts and into a yard of a nearby home.

The driver of the van was transported non-emergency with minor injuries.
