U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas visits Guthrie and Love’s Travel Stop

U.S. Representative Frank Lucas made a quick stop Friday morning at the Guthrie Love’s Travel Stop to show his support for the convenience store and travel stop industry.

Lucas (R-Cheyenne) spoke with Love’s ownership team, along with the district and store managers, to see how he could help encourage the industry from a federal perspective.

“This facility (which opened Dec. 10) is state of the art when you look at all the multiple fuels they sell and the retail products they sell,” Lucas said in an interview with Guthrie News Page.

“From the perspective of the community and all the good citizens who work here, the sales tax revenue that is generated that will support the city of Guthrie and Logan County its all an important thing.”

The Representative was give a tour of the facility and afterwards made trips to Oklahoma City and Stillwater.

“This is a just a very pleasant, positive stop and shows great progress in the Guthrie community. I like seeing my neighbors at work,” Lucas said.

The 24-hour, 10,000 square foot facility added approximately 50 jobs to Logan County. Along with the addition of Carl’s Jr. with Green Burrito restaurant, customers can enjoy gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift merchandise, name-brand electronics and more. Professional drivers can take advantage of seven showers, 106 truck-parking spaces and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center. This location will add a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling option for motorists and heavy-duty trucks this spring.
