Update: Stolen truck recovered in open field; police searching clues

Updated on July 23, 2017 at 1 p.m. — A family was reunited with their stolen pickup truck after someone found it in an open field on Sunday morning.

A man, who was about to mow a nearby land in eastern Logan County, had noticed a fence had been knocked down and went to investigate. As he went onto the land he quickly spotted the white 2008 GMC Sierra, that was reported stolen on Thursday, in an open field parked between two trees.

He recalled the tag number and recognized the truck was reported stolen.

Despite damage on the inside and outside of the truck, the owner was able to drive the vehicle away after police concluded their investigation.

Police are now searching for possible leads and clues into who may have stolen the truck.
