A single vehicle accident with four people inside resulted in two people being transported by an air ambulance to a Oklahoma City hospital.
At approximately 11:51 p.m. on Thursday, a 2009 Hyundai driven by Lyllian Smith, 18, of Guthrie, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 105 (half mile east of 3330 Road, approximately five miles west of Tyron, Okla. in Lincoln County) when the vehicle swerved to miss an armadillo.
The vehicle departed the roadway to the right, where it overturned one and a half times coming to rest on its top in the creek bed.
Smith was reported to have no injuries at the scene.
Three passengers were inside the car, including Josiah Reece, 22, of Guthrie, who was not injured.
Dawn Knox, 37, of Carney, and Nicole Reihs, 24, of Guthrie, were both transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center. Both were admitted in good condition.
Know suffered head and internal trunk injuries, while Reihs endured head, external and internal trunk injuries.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Smith and Reece were the only two victims to be wearing their seat belts.
The cause of collision was listed as “disregarded warning signal.”
