Vehicle strikes cows on highway east of Guthrie

Three cows were killed when a vehicle struck them on Highway 33 just east of Guthrie late Saturday evening.

Logan County Deputies, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Guthrie EMS were dispatched to Highway 33 and Douglas just before 10:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, Deputies found a gold Lexus that had struck several cows, who had made their way out of their pen and onto the busy highway.

A Oklahoma City female resident, whose name was not released, amazingly suffered just minor injuries and was out of her smashed vehicle when EMS arrived. She was en route to Stillwater.

The cows were found in the inside lane forcing the eastbound lanes to be shut down for nearly 35 minutes.

The cows were put down due to their injuries.
