Video: McDonalds partners with Guthrie Police Department for Coffee with Cops

The McDonald’s was full on Tuesday morning for Coffee with Cops. Officers with the Guthrie Police Department and citizens shared their stories, concerns and issues over a cup of coffee and breakfast.

Coffee with Cops is a public service project for the police department in partnership with McDonald’s. The two-hour event allowed citizens to sit and visit with the officers.

Sgt. Jeremy Thorne says it’s a great way to have a conversation with citizens about what is on their mind.

“Citizens can have a chance to ask those questions that they always wanted to ask, but were afraid too.”

The police department has been finding events to help bring the community closer with their department to have open dialogue and to visit about possible concerns, or simply share time together and visit.
