Nearly 100 guests gathered on October 9 to celebrate the beginning of a physical location for Meridian Technology Center in Guthrie.
“When you think about Meridian’s mission to educate, enrich lives and secure economic futures, the new South Division Campus is at the core of that mission,” said Meridian Technology Center Board President Gary Johnson.
The new facility will be located at 3025 South Division Street and will include space for short courses focused on personal and professional development, business and industry training, and space for entrepreneurs to grow a new business.
The 42,520 square-foot campus will sit on approximately 19 acres. It will also be home to the Logan County Economic Development Council. The anticipated completion date is January 2021.
The South Division campus will include six classrooms, a medical skills classroom and lab, a computer lab and eight offices for residential incubator tenants. It will also have four exhibit halls that will be available for use by the community. When combined, the halls can hold 477 guests.
“We’ve always had a strong partnership with the community of Guthrie and surrounding communities and have enjoyed working with businesses to meet their needs. The new South Division Campus will allow us to continue to help individuals and communities thrive,” said Dr. Douglas Major, Meridian Superintendent/CEO.
Architectural and engineering services were provided by Dewberry. CMS Willowbrook will provide construction management services. For more information about the project visit meridiantech.edu/SouthDivisionCampus.
