Two semi-trucks collided on Interstate 35 Sunday afternoon leaving one in flames.
Emergency crews responded between the two Guthrie exits just north of the Guthrie exit (mile marker 153) for a collision in the northbound lanes at 4:16 p.m.
It’s currently unknown why the driver of the truck, which caught fire, crossed the median and collided with the other truck.
The driver, believed to be at fault, refused medical treatment at the scene, while the other driver was taken to Integris Edmond hospital for minor injuries.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy black smoke crossing the highway. The cabin of the truck was completely engulfed with smoke and flames.
Northbound traffic was rerouted through Guthrie off the highway, which has caused congestion along Division St. It’s unknown when the highway will be reopened.
Guthrie News Page will have more as details become available.
