Volunteers needed for Red Cross – Kingfisher and Logan County

Bookmark and Share

There is a crucial need for volunteers at the American Red Cross Logan County Office. Specifically, volunteers are needed for Kingfisher and Logan County. Trained volunteers respond to all disasters – from house fires to violent weather damage. We are looking for anyone and everyone wanting to make a difference in their community.

Red CrossThe American Red Cross has many different opportunities and depends on its volunteers to accomplish its mission. Volunteers make up more than 96 percent of the Red Cross workforce, and there is no time requirement for volunteers.

“Volunteering is an easy way to give back to your community,” Disaster Program Manager, Jeff Renner said. “The Red Cross has numerous opportunities available to attract and train people across Oklahoma in disaster assessment, fundraising, running a shelter, feeding and health and safety.”

If interested in volunteering for the Red Cross, there will be a volunteer recruitment cookout on Sept. 13, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cookout will be held at the American Red Cross Guthrie Office, which is located at 219 S. 2nd St. Guthrie, OK 73044. The event is free and open to the public.

Come learn more about the exciting volunteer opportunities available with the Red Cross and enjoy some food and drinks. If you are able to attend, please RSVP to Karen Wallis at (405) 202-1009.
