Winter weather forcing schedules to be rearranged

Bookmark and Share

The Oklahoma weather that arrived early Thursday morning has proved to play hectic with Oklahoma high school sporting events, including for Guthrie.

GHS Wrestling

The BlueJays and Jets have canceled the Junior High and varsity dual and a make-up date has not been determined yet.

Lady Jays Basketball

The Lady Jays will participate in the 66 Annual NEO High School Tournament on Friday and Saturday with their schedule opponents and times. They will not make-up the Thursday game with fifth ranked Tulsa Memorial.

Guthrie will play Friday at 6:00, in the NEO gym, against the Lady Ridgerunners of Grove and then play on Saturday, at noon, against Tulsa McLain. Saturday’s game will be played at the Miami Activity Center.

BlueJay Basketball

Guthrie, who is participating in the Titan Classic in Midwest City, will be moved to Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Times will be the same as scheduled for the first two days.

It is unknown at the time how they will schedule the games on Monday.

Guthrie will play Lawton MacArthur at 11:30 Friday morning and with a win will play at 5:30 on Saturday, but a first round loss and the Jays would play at 11:30 on Saturday.

Luckily enough, the Jays have their open date on Friday and will only be in action in the back-to-back games next week on Monday and Tuesday.

9th Grade Basketball

The freshmen, who are participating in the Harrah Basketball tournament, will now play on Friday, Saturday, and next Saturday. All game times are kept the same as scheduled.

Gym space will be occupied throughout the week, in Harrah, causing the gap in tournament play.

Junior High Basketball

The Junior High basketball teams were scheduled to play four games with Shawnee today, but they have all been canceled. The games will not be made up.
