Witness: Driver swerving in and out lanes causes accident; dog goes missing

4:00 update – Lucy (the lost dog) has been found safe and returned to her owners.

One person was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident on S. Division Street on Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicles involved, included a white Dodge Ram pickup truck and and a white four-door Jeep Wrangler.

According to a motorist who was driving behind the pickup truck, the Dodge was seen going in and out of traffic as it traveled southbound and forcing the witness to create space from the truck.

For an unknown reason, the truck went across the center line and struck the Jeep, which was headed north on S. Division, near the entrances of Pleasant Hills Apartments and Mission Hills at 1:05 p.m.

The impact sent the Dodge over the curb of the apartment entrance and losing its front wheel, while the Jeep came to rest in the northbound lane.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene and the driver of the truck was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital by Guthrie EMS.

The couple in the Jeep had just moved to the Guthrie area and were taking their two dogs to see a veterinarian. One dog took off after the accident and has not been located despite the help of Animal Control. The dog, which is described as looking as bird dog, was last seen south of Prairie Grove Road and goes by the name Lucy.
