A Guthrie woman was arrested after police say she caused a disturbance outside a local bar, exposed herself to passing motorists, and resisted officers after taking her into custody.
According to a Guthrie Police probable cause affidavit, officers were dispatched at approximately 4:26 p.m. on July 18 to the Rockaway Tavern, 7802 S. Sooner Road, for a disturbance involving a woman causing a scene.
While officers were en route, dispatch advised that the woman had left the business and was walking along Seward Road, where she was reportedly exposing her breasts to passing motorists. Dispatch also informed responding officers that the woman was attempting to assault the owner of the business.
When officers arrived, they located a woman wearing a black sports bra and black shorts standing on the south side of Seward Road, yelling and pointing toward people outside the bar.
Police identified the woman as 39-year-old Brandy Beavers.
According to the affidavit, Beavers immediately placed her hands behind her back when officers arrived stating she was “going to jail.”
Employees at the tavern told officers they had asked Beavers to leave because she was acting disruptive. After leaving the building, she allegedly began throwing objects and punching property near the bar. Witnesses also told police she threw bottles and broke an ashtray that was sitting on one of the outdoor tables.
After employees told Beavers they were calling police, she allegedly walked into the roadway and exposed her breasts to people, while also dropping her pants in the roadway and began twerking outside the business and to passing drivers.
Police arrested Beavers on complaints of public intoxication, vandalism, and indecent exposure.
According to the affidavit, while officers escorted her to a patrol vehicle, Beavers allegedly attempted to kick them. Once inside the patrol unit, she reportedly kicked and banged on the door and window.
Beavers was transported to Logan County Mercy Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Logan County Jail.
Officers requested surveillance video from the business, but an employee told them the camera system was not working.
Beavers was formally arraigned on July 21 and charged with one count of malicious injury to property under $1,000. Bond was set at $10,000, which she posted the following day. She entered a plea of not guilty. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 8 at 9 a.m.
