‘89ER Celebration Queen Competition

The annual search for the young lady to be crowned “89er Queen” will culminate with the Queen Competition on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Fryar’s Arena near Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The competition to find that special lady to continue the rich tradition of 89er Queen is open for young ladies ages 15-24. There are no residency requirements.  The competition includes: horsemanship, speech and interview skills and having completed a short written application.

The weeklong events associated with the ‘89er Celebration recognizes the land run of 1889 and the almost overnight development of Guthrie and surrounding communities.  The celebration activities which include chuck wagon feed, western art auction, rodeo, old timer baseball game, numerous food and craft vendors, a huge carnival and of course the largest parade in Oklahoma; are scheduled from April 17-21 in Guthrie.
