The Guthrie High School boys tennis team nearly qualify all four divisions of the state tournament, but the duo of Adam Beery and Dakota Leach were the lone qualifers as they get set for this weekends tournament.
The Jays competed in Bixby at the regional.
Beery and Leach will play at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
Boys #1 Singles Andy Hartley placed 5th
In the first round he defeated Shawnee 6-3, 6-0
In the second round he lost to Metro Christian 6-0, 6-0
In the qualifying round he lost to Del City 6-1, 6-2
In the last round he defeated Shawnee 6-2, 6-2
Boys #2 Singles Brandon LaMarche placed 5th
In the first round he defeated Del City 1-6, 6-4, 6-3
In the second round he lost to Booker T Washington 6-0, 6-0
In the qualifying round he lost to Shawnee 6-1, 3-6, 0-6
He won the last round to place fifth to Del City
Boys #1 Doubles Adam Beery and Dakota Leach placed 4th and are state bound
In the first round they defeated Shawnee in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-4
In the next round they lost to Metro Christian 6-0, 6-0
In the qualifying round they defeated Tulsa Memorial 6-0, 6-3
In the match for third they lost to Bixby 6-1, 6-1
Boys #2 Doubles Joe Kuruvilla and Jacob Ventris placed 5th
In the first round they lost to Booker T Washington 6-0, 6-1
In the second round they had a bye
In the third round they lost to Shawnee 6-1, 6-1
In the last round they defeated Del City 6-2, 6-0
