The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Fox died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Initially, the information about Fox’s vehicle being stolen during this crime was released. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen, and wanted in connection with the murder of Fox. This vehicle was recovered in Mississippi on Dec. 24.

Information that was not released initially included Fox’s cell phone and a credit card were also stolen during the crime. The telephone and credit card were tracked electronically from Oklahoma to Houston, TX then later to Mississippi and then to the Detroit, Michigan area late last week.

“Public disclosure of this information may have alerted the suspect who may have fled, further delaying the resolution of this case,” Chief Deputy Richard Stephens with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office said.

The investigation provided a person of interest that was released later that week from surveillance photos from Wal-Mart and Arvest Bank on Dec. 2. The video provided information about specific items purchased at that time. A subsequent search warrant at Fox’s residence allowed investigators to recover thespecific items. Fingerprint analysis of the items revealed the identity of the suspect. Related story: Investigators need help with identification of a person of interest in homicide investigation

Lance Alan Solomon, 50, was identified and an arrest warrant was granted.

“The difficulty involved in an investigation and apprehension across state lines is significant. The United States Marshal’s Service was requested to assist in the location and apprehension of Mr. Solomon,” Stephens said.

IMG_3744On Tuesday, the Michigan State Police, Third District, Fugitive Team located Solomon and safely apprehended him based on an arrest warrant. Solomon was transported and lodged at the Genesee County Jail located in Flint, Michigan. Once extradition has been waived, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office will arrange transportation for  Solomon to Logan County where he will face the charge of murder in the first degree.

“The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is very grateful for the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the United States Marshal’s Service, and the Michigan State Police,” Stephens concluded.
