It was an anticipated grudge match between Donna Coffin and Mayor Mark Spradlin in the “Flour Will Fly” bake off. While the winner was not a surprise, neither was the support for two great causes.
Several turned out to the Logan County Fairgrounds as Coffin and Spradlin duked it out in the kitchen for the best tasting dessert. In the end, five judges appeared to have taken sides with Coffin. However, points were deducted from Coffin who shoved a delicious pie in the face of the Mayor to kick start the festivities.
The free lunch of chili, beans and corn bread was enjoyed by all and a $5 donation gave everyone a sample of choices of dessert and a smile out the door.
The big winners were Shopping With A Cop and Logan Community Services as each got 50 percent of the proceeds.
