The Guthrie High School golf program was well-represented Monday morning at the annual Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State games.
Emily Beeby and Beau Dale took on the Cherokee Hills Golf Club in Catoosa in their final high school sports activity as they represented the West team.
The 2022 Guthrie graduates earn the honor with their performance at this year’s state golf tournament.
Beeby teamed up with Cache Kallie DeLorio, while Dale partnered with Christian Heritage’s Gavin Watson.
In the All-State games, scoring is comprised of four categories, including scramble, 4-Ball, modified alternate shot, and total points.
Dale and Watson won all four categories, while Beeby and DeLorio dropped their four categories. In the end, West was the low score by two (25-23) to collect the win.
Dale was then honored with the Kyle Lewis Scholarship of $1,000. The scholarship is in the name of Bethel’s Lewis, a 2010 All-State golfer who was killed in a car wreck on the way home from Tulsa after playing in the 2010 All-State event. This award is based on good character, school activities, community service, and the financial need of the athlete.
