Bluejay golf team begins season with a win in Dallas

With a bulls eye on their back in the 2019 season, the Guthrie High School boys golf team tee’d off the season in fine fashion with a season opening win in Dallas.

The Jays were 18 shots better than McKinney North to capture the Lake Dallas Falcon Four-Ball Tournament.

There was no individual awards given out, that portion was played as a four-ball format with two players partnering playing their own ball each hole then the best score was recorded.

Luke Morgan was the low man for the Jays with a round of 73, Brady Hirzel was next at 74 and followed up with Bo Robbins’ 77 and Luke Roach’s 85.

Morgan and Robbins partnered together to shot a four under 68 to take first. Brothers Brady and Jaxon Hirzel partnered to shot a 73 to grab the runner-up medals. Roach and Luke Dale combined for a respectable 77.

The Jays will be back on the links on Monday in Lawton.
