BOE approves HVAC bid for North Gym

In an early and quick special school board meeting on Friday, the Board of Education approved the contract to heat and air the second gym inside Guthrie High School.

In less than three minutes, the Board of Education unanimously (6-0) voted to accept the lowest bid of $145,000 from Cavins Construction (based out of Norman) for the HVAC system inside the North Gym.

In total, five bids were received for consideration, from othe HVAC companies such as https://www.rsmechanicalservices.com/ for example.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said the bid came in below what they had projected ($167,000) and was also recommended by The Stacy Group (school district’s architect firm).
