The Pearls and Lace Girls Mentoring Society proudly awards $200 Book Scholarships (each) to two very deserving local young ladies.
Paris H. Andrews, daughter of Jason Andrews and Dorine Ellerby, and a 2022 graduate of Coyle High School is currently a first-year student pursuing a Nursing degree at Langston University. While at Coyle High School, Paris was a cheerleader and a member of FCCLA.
Additionally, she has participated in the Archonette Auxiliary Youth group of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, worked as a community volunteer with the Langston City Veterans Appreciation program, and served as a Langston Community Food Pantry youth volunteer! Paris was a very faithful member of The Pearls and Lace Girls Mentoring Society and a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Langston. Sierra Leone Reed-Richmond is the daughter of Gradina Richmond Moody, and a 2022 honor graduate from Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Her accomplishments include “The White Cord,” Student of the Month, Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Academic Excellence Award (Algebra), and the Encouragement Award. Sierra graduated with a 3.78 GPA, which earned her a full-ride scholarship to Philander-Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she is currently pursuing a degree in Biology.
A highly active member of The Pearls and Lace Society, Sierra says the experiences and teachings will forever be etched in her heart! Sierra served faithfully in the CIA Youth Ministry at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Langston.
