On the recommendation of the Logan County Emergency Management Office, the current burn ban in Logan County will soon expire.

The Board of County Commissioners met on Monday morning to discuss the ban that is set to expire on March 21. Related article: BOCC reinstates burn ban

“We don’t need one (burn ban) and we don’t meet the requirements because of the future rainfall that we are going to get,” Emergency Manager Steven Haga told the commissioners in the brief meeting.

Weather forecasts are calling anywhere from one to two inches of rainfall on Monday.

One of the requirements necessary for a ban to be in place is for no more than half-inch of precipitation forecasted for the next three days.

The ban is set to expire at midnight on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
