Two office holders will face opponents in their party primary in June, according to the Logan County Election Board records.

The filing period for state and county offices concluded at 5 p.m. Friday, resulting in two contested races for Logan County offices.

Two Logan County incumbents will run unopposed for the election cycle — ReJeania Zmek (R- Guthrie) filed for County Court Clerk and Troy Cole (R-Guthrie) filed for County Clerk.

County Sheriff Jim Bauman (R-Guthrie) will seek re-election. He will be opposed by former sheriff Randy Richardson (R-Guthrie) in the June 26th primary.

Cheryl Belk (D-Guthrie) and Ben McHand (D-Guthrie) filed their paper work for the sheriff’s office as did John W. Marshall (I-Guthrie).

Incumbent District 2 Logan County Commissioner Mike Pearson (R-Guthrie) filed to retain his seat. Also seeking the commissioner’s office are Michael D. Albright (R-Meridian) and former commissioner Kevin Leach (R-Guthrie). Gene Foyil (D-Guthrie) was the lone Democrat to file.

Primaries are set June 26 with runoffs on Aug. 28. The general election is Nov. 6.

John Marshall is my step father. He molested me in Amarillo in 1990 when I was 15 years old. There is a police report with admission from him and my mother from Stables cafe, Sherry Marshall. This is NOT the man you want to represent your county. I will be passing the report along to the press next week.

    Sincerely,
    John Marshall’s victim
