Parents, grandparents, teachers and students spent their Tuesday evening at the Central Elementary playground cleaning up the area for the start of school.
With shovels, rakes and brooms, the playing surface was spruced up for Thursday’s meet the teacher event and ultimately for the start of school.
The group shoveled sand, picked up sticks and removed weeds.
With the transition to neighborhood schools (pre-k through fourth grade) for Guthrie Public Schools, elementary schools are encouraged that parents will become more invested in their children’s school.
