This is the last weekend for the Pollard production of “La Cage aux Follies” Based on a French play from 1973, this musical explodes with shenanigans as a vivacious Drag couple meet their son’s straight-lace future in-laws.  For a list of plays for the upcoming 2013 season go to www.thepollard.org. You may have noticed all of the firework stands popping up around town.  The Guthrie High School Band Boosters as one of the major Fund Raising events are sponsoring a Fireworks Stand. This year they are in the Wal-Mart parking lot on South Division. They will be selling TNT fireworks products this year. The stand will be open June 22 through July 4 from 10am until 10pm.  They will be open past 10pm if they have customers! Get coupons and see what TNT Fireworks do at www.tntfireworks.com There will also be coupons in The Oklahoman.

Looking for something creative to do on a Friday? Check out the “Artist Adventure Summer Camp” at Gallery Grazioso, it’s a five week course teaching you how to have a real fine art show from start to finish! Budding artists can develop their own styles and explore new mediums. Students will be encouraged to help select their subject matter from a variety of project examples with a full range of mixed media. Students will have an opportunity to learn how to curate and hang a real art show, write a press release, design a promo flyer and make label cards as a final accomplishment of their completed works throughout the classes. There is a new restaurant in town which will be featuring Caribbean Food!  It’s called Queen Ann’s and is located inside the Guthrie Golf and Country Club, 3401 Highway 105. Lewis and Ann Weekly decided to move to Guthrie from Florida following Ann’s brother who has lived in Guthrie for a number of years. Queen Ann’s Restaurant is scheduled to open this Sunday from 11a.m. to 9p.m. Wednesday through Friday they will be open from 11a.m. to 2p.m.for lunch and 4p.m. to 9:30p.m. for dinner. Saturday they will feature breakfast from 8a.m. to 10a.m. Queen Ann’s will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

July 4th at 7p.m. there will be a Bull Bash at the Tyler Blount Memorial Arena at 215 Fairgrounds Road, hosted by Cowboy Church.

This week’s Chamber Coffee will be hosted by another new business in Guthrie!  Shady Lady Old Time Photos located at 113 W. Oklahoma, the coffee will begin at 9:30a.m. followed by a ribbon cutting. Don’t forget to shop Guthrie first!
