The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce another month-long celebration! Dead Guy Daze is the brainchild of several Guthrie business owners, and us. The way it started is that we were getting calls from several business owners with ideas that they had for events in October. Some of them said that they had spoken with other interested businesses as well. We decided that it would be a lot better idea to get them all in the room together and discuss their ideas than to play phone tag, so we invited them to come to The Chamber board room. From there it grew, and DEAD GUY DAZE was born. It is a way to market of all of the diverse events that take place here in October, and we have added a few, too! Here are some of the things that will be transpiring:
- Guthrie will be buzzing all week, and packed this weekend! The Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival and the Guthrie Escape, Art, Wine, Music Festival is finally here. Oklahoma Avenue will be closing down Thursday to fill the streets with tents in preparation of Artists and Winery’s. Two stages will be set up at each end of Oklahoma Avenue for musical artists. Cottonwood Flats is already filling up with tents and RV’s in anticipation to hear some great Bluegrass music! What a great community we live in!
