Our first ever Zombie Bolt has gathered much media attention this year. The owners of Guthrie Haunts Scaregrounds has over 600 participants descending upon Guthrie Saturday afternoon at 4p.m. The run will start at Harrison Avenue and continue down to the Temple. There will be an “Afterlife Party” at 219 S. Drexel after the run, participants are free, $10 to others, as space permits.  The Toby Keith Foundation and Children’s Hospital Foundation will benefit. And did I mention that KENDRICK PERKINS WILL BE THERE?!! www.zombiebolt.com

Friday will be a full day with The Pollard Theatre presenting “The 39 Steps”.  This Alfred Hitchcock thriller is just the ticket for this time of year!  Shows begin Friday the 5th and run through the 27th.   Guthrie Haunts Scaregrounds is also opening on Friday night and will be open through the 31st. See www.guthriehaunts.com for lots of information!

Saturday will be seeing more activities!  St. Mary’s CatholicSchool will be having their annual golf tournament, “Playing For The Plaid” beginning at 8:00 at Cimarron National Golf Course.  You still have time to enter a team!   The Guthrie Public Library will be offering Japanese Lessons from 9:30 – 10:30. And as if that isn’t enough, The Territorial Riders will be having a Poker Run to benefit local families!! www.territorialriders.com

Sunday should be a day of rest, right?  Well, at least you can be at peace at Trinity Episcopal Church for The Bluegrass Mass at 10:30!  The Fortney Family and Harley Campbell will be providing special worship music for the service at 310 E. Noble. All are welcome and a potluck lunch will follow!  That afternoon at 3:00 they will celebrate The Blessing Of The Animals on the south side of the church.  Treats will be offered for humans and animals.  All kinds of creatures are welcome, but please have them on a leash or in a carrier.

So, once again, you have no excuse for saying that there is nothing to do in Guthrie!  Go out and have a life!!
