Happy New Year! Byron Berline’s Double Stop Music Hall will be kicking off the New Year with a great concert featuring the greatest Bluegrass Music you have ever heard! School classes resume next Monday, January 7th. Are you familiar with our civic clubs? The beginning of the year is a great time to think about checking them out! Rotary Club International meets every Monday at the Granny Had One Event Center from noon to one. Lions Club meets every Friday at the American Legion Building at noon, with a catered lunch. Kiwanis Club meets every other Tuesday at Pizza Hut at 6:30p.m. The Guthrie Business Women meet the second Thursday of the month at 6:30p.m. in different restaurants. Lies My Father Told Me, is the fourth and final event in the Library’s self defense series, taught by Master Dutch Hinkle Learn about five basic commonly held myths of self-defense. Ever been interested in Japanese? Now is your chance to learn! The Guthrie Public Library is offering an 8-week course meeting each Saturday, beginning Saturday, January 12th the class runs through March 2nd. Join us for Japanese language classes each Saturday morning at 9:30 am. This beginner-level class will focus on both conversational and written Japanese. Classes are taught by Dutch Hinkle, who lived in Japan and has studied Asian culture and language for over 50 years.
