We’ve got another big weekend ahead of us! You will see thousands of people in town from Thursday to Sunday. The Bluegrass Festival begins Thursday and finishes up Saturday evening, then onto a golf tournament on Sunday. This year’s headline act is Kathy Mattea! There are several International Acts to perform on the Cottonwood stage such as England, Japan, Belgium, and Switzerland.

The Guthrie Escape, Art, Wine, Music Festival begins Saturday at 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and runs through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5p.m. on Oklahoma Avenue. This is Homecoming weekend as well, due to the Guthrie Escape, Art, Wine, Music Festival closing down Oklahoma Avenue the Homecoming Parade route will turn South on Wentz then turn West on Harrison Avenue, once it gets to Second street it will turn South and go to Springer where it will head back East to the Jr. High School.
Watch out for Zombie’s Saturday, Oct. 5! The festivities start at 11 a.m. zombies will invade Guthrie for the second annual Zombie Bolt 5k fun run as runners make all effort in keeping their lifelines while zombie characters attempt to take their lifelines away. This was a hugely successful event last year you won’t want to miss the bigger and even better 2013 addition!

The Territorial Quilt show is the 4 and 5 at the Logan County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m t o 5 p.m. The Territorial Riders is having a poker run; Saturday the 5 at 11 a.m. the money raised goes to support local non-profits. For more information go to www.territorialriders.com

The Pollard Theatre presents “Alter Boyz” Altar Boyz is a foot-stomping, rafter-raising, musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of their national “Raise the Praise” tour.
