Cody Mosley has been selected as a finalist for 30/30 Next Gen by Ion Oklahoma Online. 30/30 Next Gen recognizes the next generation of innovative, creative and inspiring individuals who push the boundaries beyond their years in all areas: arts, entertainment, business, media, sports, technology and more.
A panel of business and civic leaders served as judges and selected only the top 30 from submitted nominations. The selected individuals will be honored at an awards banquet on October 16, 2014, and will be profiled in IonOklahoma Online.
Mosley received his Bachelor’s Degree from Mid-America Christian University while playing collegiate golf and serving in a leadership role in campus activities. Directly after graduation, Mosley continued his education, obtaining a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma in December 2013. During his undergraduate studies, Mosley met his wife, Chelsea Mosley, originally from Midlothian, TX. The Mosley’s have been married since March of 2013.
Mosley has served the City of Guthrie, OK for over two years now, as Director of Economic Development & Marketing, while pursuing his certification in economic development with the International Economic Development Council. During his time at Guthrie, Mosley has led efforts in successfully coordinating the Mumford & Sons: Gentlemen of the Road Guthrie Stopover, and has helped in the creation and development of “Make Guthrie Weird”, a movement to promote Guthrie as a destination for emerging artists.
Local business owner Jeff Fry said about Cody, “He’s more than a cheerleader, he’s a business development magnet… After meeting him, I was telling my wife, “They’ve got this kid up in the City of Guthrie – he’s dynamite!” Mosley credits the new businesses that have helped make Guthrie a destination for this award, along with his family and friends. “Since Sophomore year at MACU when I realized I wanted to pursue economic development, a thirty under thirty award has been a goal of mine. It’s great to have reached this goal so quickly, and I hope that this is only one of the many awards coming Guthrie’s way in the near future. I’m blessed to be surrounded by such great people, not only in my family, but in my community too. Living in and being a part of what’s going on in Guthrie is a dream; the emerging entertainment scene, blended with the entrepreneurial spirit that I hope continues to grow with my department is wonderful. I think Guthrie has the potential to be the measuring rod for communities in the Oklahoma City area in the coming years.”
