Council approves city attorney and judges contracts

The Guthrie city council on Tuesday extended the contracts for the City attorney, judge and alternate judge.

With unanimous (6-0) votes on all three, City Attorney Randel Shadid, City Judge David Hood and Alternate Judge Jimmy Oliver remain in the same position as the year before.

Gaylord Z. Thomas was the lone council member to not register a vote, but discussed the issues in executive session.

All three contracts are for one year.

The city attorney leads the City in the legal department and is responsible to the city manager and city council.

The judge positions help administer oaths and issue subpoenas, arrest warrants and search warrants.
