This week the Oklahoma Emergency Management Association, along with the State Office of Emergency Management, held their 2014 State Conference in Norman.
During the awards banquet that seated nearly 300 in attendance, the Board of Logan County Commissioners were given the Public Official of the Year award for 2014.
Commissioners Mike Pearson (Dist.), Mark Sharpton (Dist. 1) and Monty Piercy (Dist. 3) were nominated for the award based on support from the Logan County Emergency Management’s office for the past six years.
425 emergency managers from across the state attended the conference.
