A suspect in southern Logan County raised a shotgun at deputies as he barricaded himself resulting in deputies firing their weapons and killing the suspect, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Greg Valencia with the Sheriff’s Office says at 4:40 p.m. the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an irate person carrying a shotgun while walking down the street.
Three deputies spotted the individual near the intersection of Douglas Blvd. and Simmons Road. The subject was spotted hiding in a wooded area.
After an exchange of words with the deputies, the subject raised the shotgun and pointed it at the deputies resulting in the deputies firing upon the subject, according to Valencia.
A medical helicopter was requested, but was canceled when the subject died at the scene.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations is working the case and did not respond at the scene.
