Dog dies after running out in front of motorcycle

A motorcyclist was transported to a Oklahoma City hospital on Wednesday evening after a dog ran into his motorcycle on Guthrie’s west side.

Emergency responders were dispatched north of the intersection of 14th Street and College Ave. at 5:38 p.m. for a motorcycle versus dog accident.

According to witnesses at the scene, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on 14th Street when a boxer named Midnite darted out into the gravel road and collided with the motorcycle.

The male driver suffered a neck injury and was transported non-emergency to OU Medical Center by Guthrie EMS for a complete evaluation.

The dog died at the scene.

Along with Guthrie EMS, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Guthrie Police Department responded to the scene.
