The Oklahoma Association of School Administrators (OASA), a member organization of the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA), announced Guthrie’s Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson has been selected as the OASA District #3, Superintendent of the Year for 2018.
The nominations and selections are made by the members of OASA in the various OASA districts. Superintendents are recognized for what they have contributed to the profession through leadership and advocacy for public education.
Simpson, who as served as the district’s superintendent since 2012, is now a finalist for the 2018 Superintendent of the Year.
“That’s quite a honor,” School Board President Travis Sallee said at the Monday night Board of Education meeting.
“I think Dr. Simpson certainly deserves that,” Sallee added.
Simpson will be honored at the OASA Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the CCOSA School Leadership Summer Conference at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Norman June 5 – 7.
