Earthquake rattles many out of their sleep

Many in the Guthrie area were rattled out of their sleep by an early Monday morning earthquake.

According to the USGS, a 3.0 tremor hit at 2:04 a.m. The epicenter was in the northern part of the city limits.

“It was crazy loud,” was one of the several early morning social media posts describing the quake.

The exact location was near Canyon Bluff Road, which is near Pine St. and south of Summit View Cemetery.

The quake measured just 1.1 miles deep.
