El Reno over matched in second half

The Guthrie boys basketball team can almost guarantee they are going to get El Reno’s best when the two North conference opponents square off.

The Jays, who were playing their third straight home game in the same amount of days, over came a 28-19 first half deficit to win their second straight game by a final score of 54-50. Guthrie has now won two games in a row and will take an 11-11 record into this weeks regional.

Guthrie rallied in the second half, 35-22, to pull out the 4-point win to take the season series from the Indians.

The Jays will now prepare for the Carl Albert Titans in a do-or-die first round regional game in the Northwest Classen Regional. The game is set for Friday evening at 6:30.
