Erin Henke is competing on the slopes this week for the Special Olympics.
The John L Cassidy Heartland Winter Games are being held in Atchison, Kansas.
Henke was excited to see snow on the ground.
Opening ceremonies were held Wednesday evening with the games starting on Thursday.
The competitions include Alpine Skiing, Snowshoeing, Cross Country, Figure Skating and Speed Skating.
Henke is competing in Snowshoeing, which is quickly becoming a favorite for outdoor winter activity. Combining aerobic activity with ease of walking over snow without sinking in, snowshoeing is an activity for all ages.

“I did great,” Henke said.
Good job girl I’ll see you on Monday
