Firework shows to go on in surrounding areas

Although Guthrie will not have a city-wide firework show this Fourth of July, there are several locations that will have shows.

The City of Guthrie passed an ordinance, where residents could discharge fireworks in city limits, but a burn ban was put into effect this week that prohibits any fireworks in city limits.

Logan County is not under a burn ban.

Areas that will be hosting city-wide fireworks include:

  • Bethany- July 4, 2011 (Eldon Lyon Park)
  • Blanchard- July 1, 2011 (South Park)
  • Chandler- July 4, 2011 (Bell Cow Lake)
  • Chickasha- July 4, 2011 (Shannoan Springs Park)
  • Edmond- July 4, 2011 (University of Central Oklahoma)
  • El Reno- July 2, 2011 (Lake El Reno)
  • Enid- July 4, 2011 (Meadowlake Park)
  • Firelake Grand Casino- July 4, 2011
  • Kickapoo Casino- July 3, 2011
  • Kingfisher- July 4, 2011 (Kingfisher Park)
  • McLoud- July 2, 2011 (Veteran’s Park)
  • Midwest City- July 4, 2011 (Joe B. Barnes Regional Park)
  • Mustang (TBA)
  • Newcastle- July 2, 2011 (Veteran’s Park)
  • Norman- July 4, 2011 (Reaves Park)
  • Oklahoma City- July 3, 2011 (Bricktown)
  • Prague- July 4, 2011 (Prague City Park)

All firework displays will begin at dusk each night.
