Due to recent storms and floods, it seemed timely again to remind District 1 residents about specific roadways in the area which are subject to flooding. The list below identifies these. While some roads flood immediately, others do so hours later.
In the past, swift water rescues were undertaken to free motorists who drove into flood water. For your own safety, please respect high water signs and do not attempt to drive through flooded areas. A few inches of water can sweep a vehicle from the roadway. Water covering the road may also disguise the fact that the roadway is no longer intact.
