Fundraising effort to support Meridian Fire Department members after losses in wildfire

On March 14th, a large wildfire broke out in East Logan County, igniting an intense battle between firefighters and the raging flames. Among the dedicated first responders were the brave men and women of the Meridian Fire Department, who worked tirelessly to protect lives and homes throughout the fire’s devastating spread. Unfortunately, the ongoing strain of multiple fires burning at once led to a tragic turn of events.

During this courageous effort, Chief Johnny Pross’ mother, along with one of his firefighters, lost their homes to the very fire they were working so hard to contain. The personal loss of these two families has left a profound impact on the members of the Meridian Fire Department, who now face a heartbreaking challenge on top of their already difficult work.

Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect the community, and in this case, they did so while battling a fire that would ultimately claim the homes of their own loved ones.

In response, a fundraising effort has been launched to help Chief Pross, his firefighter, and their families recover from this devastating loss. All donations will go directly to these families to assist with immediate needs such as temporary housing, clothing, and the rebuilding of their homes.
