GHS golf rolls to second straight win; Morgan is stellar with round of 66

With temperatures in the upper 30’s and the usual Oklahoma winds, the Guthrie High School golf team was able to overcome the elements to claim their second tournament win in a row on Monday.

Playing at Fort Sill for the Lawton MacArthur tournament, the Jays captured the tournament win by 14 strokes.

After one round, the Jays shot a 307 and led Elk City by four strokes.

Luke Morgan scored a 73 and was followed up with Bo Robbins 74, Luke Roach 77 and Luke Dale 83.

The second round proved to be even better for the Jays, who last week won the Suburban Conference championship.

Leading the way for the Jays team score of 296 was Morgan, who fired off a second round 66 to claim the individual title.

Morgan’s score of 139 was followed up with top 10 finishes by Robbins and Roach.

Guthrie is coached by Ric Meshew.
