GHS to make awareness and raise donations for Pink Week

Guthrie High School students are gearing up for the annual Pink Week which is set to begin on Friday with an assembly. Students will be raising money and awareness for cancer patients and this year wants the public to become more active with the event.

In an assembly on Sept. 4 inside the GHS gymnasium at 9:05 a.m., students will be announcing their goal for the week, the recipient and other details of the various events.

At the first home football game on Sept. 11 with Ponca City, students will be raising money throughout the game and prior to the start will release balloons in honor or memory of those who have had or currently have cancer.

On September 14th, the dollar amount raised will be announced and a presentation will be made to the recipient at the closing assembly at 1:45 p.m. at the high school.

To help support the cause you can make a donation at the high school as well as purchase a t-shirt for $15. The shirt comes in an option of gray or white and comes in sizes from adult small up to a triple extra-large.
