Guthrie FFA holds first meeting to start the year

Last week the Guthrie FFA chapter held its first meeting of the year. The theme for this meeting was around their annual Ice Cream Social.

This particular activity is one of the favorite events for chapter members, parents and guests.  Many things were discussed during the meeting such as; career development events, upcoming activities for members and various leadership conferences that members can attend.

Following the meeting members, parents and guest were treated with ice cream, toppings and drinks for refreshments. Upon conclusion of refreshments members went outside to play kickball. A total of three teams competed which consisted of six members and two chapter officers per team. The winning team consisted of the following participants; Garret Wellden, Emily Cordell, Amanda Montgomery, Waylon Ball, Enoc Miranda Rivera, Jordan Connelly, Micah Robertson and Daniel Detrixhe.

“We thank everyone who came out and enjoyed this fun evening,” FFA Advisor Clay Drake said.

He reminds Guthrie FFA members that their next chapter meeting will be Tuesday Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. which will include a Hawaiian Theme.

“Come dressed and plan to have lots of fun,” Drake said.
