Leadership, teamwork, and personal growth were at the forefront as Guthrie FFA officers attended Oklahoma FFA’s Northwest Area COLT Conference in Enid, Oklahoma. Guthrie FFA officers Colten Stevens, Lanie Sasser, Emmitt Garrett, Riley Piersol, Abbie Lanoy, and Kaden Berry attended the conference alongside advisors Dusty Oldenburg, Clay Drake, and Savahanna Rennick.

The Northwest Area COLT Conference provided FFA members with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership abilities while building relationships with other FFA members from across the state. Throughout the event, members participated in activities and lessons designed to challenge them to become better leaders and more effective team members.

One of the most valuable aspects of the conference was the emphasis on teamwork. The event theme “Go Forth and Conquer” showed members how to communicate effectively, work together toward common goals, and recognize the strengths that each individual brings to a team. These skills are important not only within an FFA chapter, but also in school, the workplace, and everyday life.

The conference also encouraged members to step outside of their comfort zones and develop confidence in their leadership abilities. By working alongside other FFA members, Guthrie officers gained new perspectives and learned different ways to approach challenges and lead others.

For the Guthrie FFA officers, attending the Northwest Area COLT Conference was an opportunity to grow individually while becoming a stronger officer team. The leadership skills and experiences gained at the conference will continue to benefit the chapter as the officers work together throughout the year.
