Due to ongoing concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Guthrie High School Homecoming assemblies have been canceled for the upcoming school year.
“We regretfully have canceled both the 2020 alumni and student homecoming assemblies scheduled for Friday, September 11th,” Principal Chris LeGrande said.
“At this time, no other homecoming activities will be affected.”
The 40 and 50 year class reunions announced ahead of time that would not participate in the annual events.
“While this has been a difficult decision, the health and safety of our alumni classes as well as our staff and students is of utmost importance as social distancing would not be possible in such a large gathering of people,” LeGrande said.
