A body was found lying in the road in northeast Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The person has been identified as a 22-year-old male from Guthrie.
At around 11 a.m., police were dispatched to the area with reports of a man lying in the road near Air Depot Blvd., north of N.E. 50th.
Upon arrival at 11:09 a.m., police found Zane Axl Peery dead. They say Peery had trauma to his body consistent with homicide.
No arrests have been made in the case.
According to Peery’s Facebook page, he is from Guthrie and attended Guthrie High School.
Many friends went to his page to leave their condolences.
“Please say a prayer for my family tonight as tragedy has struck for a very young family member that I loved with all my heart,” a family member posted.
“I can’t wrap my mind around the hate that is in the world today. Gone but will never be forgotten! R.I.P Little Nephew until we meet on the other side.”
