Guthrie man is person of interest in Blaine Co. homicide

Updated on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:30 a.m. – LCSO confirms Sunshine Davis was taken into custody Friday evening. Davis was wanted for an assault that took place earlier this month.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for a male and female suspect for two weeks in a brutal assault on a man. Now, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations is wanting to talk to the male suspect as a person of interest in the murder of an 18-year-old female in Blaine County.

Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office say they have been actively searching for Christopher Blake Scruggs and Sunshine Meadows Davis, who are believed to have been a part of assaulting a person by striking the victim in the head repeatedly with a handgun on Oct. 14, according to court documents.

The victim suffered a fractured skull during the assault.

Both Scruggs have lengthy criminal history, including pleading guilty to cruelty to animals. Several animals near Crescent were found shot, stabbed and decapitated in Sept. 2010.
