Guthrie Police Lieutenant Mark Bruning was found dead inside his home Thursday evening.
With the assistance of the Guthrie Police Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI) is investigating the case. However, there are no signs of foul play.
“If you can find it in your heart, the men and women of my department could use any prayers you could spare,” Guthrie Police Chief Don Sweger said in a post.
Bruning, a lieutenant within the Criminal Investigations Division, joined the department as a dispatcher before coming on as an officer in 1995.
Funeral arrangements are with Hayes Funeral Home.
Bruning, who served as an EMT and volunteer for the Woodcrest Volunteer Fire Department since 2016, leaves behind a wife, daughter, and grandchild.
He was 47 years old.
